After eight grueling weeks of torturous laughter, 60-some odd hilarious comedians, a rotating cast of star judges, countless stoked and amused audience members, and three different rad venues, we have finally reached the terminus. The Buffalo Laugh-Off Comedy Contest is drawing to an end, with the final showdown happening TONIGHT at the new Helium Comedy Club (30 Mississippi St.) in downtown’s Cobblestone District. For a measly $12 you can check eight of Buffalo’s hottest emerging comics in a swanky new venue; bring an extra $10 or so and have yourself a couple pints of brew from Community Beer Works, Flying Bison Brewing Company, or Ithaca Beer Company. Tonight’s showcase will feature local comedy hotness in the form of Dan Fisher, Lucas Gardner, Eric Lingenfelter, Rick Matthews, Gary Andrews, Rufus, Brandon Trusso, and Tyrone Maclin, with celeb judges Kristen Becker, Helium Comedy Club, James Kurdziel, on air talent at 103.3 The Edge, and former Buffalo Sabre, Andrew Peters.
